Andy McCann:
Andy is a Director of AMCAN Consultancy & Training. He specialises in using techniques to empower people to adopt winning strategies and powerful behaviour patterns that have transformational results, allowing individuals to reach their full potential.
Andy has a background in sport (as a former international sportsman and sports coach with over 20 years experience), education (with 17 years teaching in a secondary school) and health (as Director of Studies for Wales for the Brief & Strategic Therapy Foundation). He has also worked in a university at postgraduate level and is considered an expert in his field. He has been nominated for the prestigious Glen Dimplex Writer’s Award (2006) as a result of his first health and lifestyle book, which was released internationally and acclaimed by medical, health and education experts: “Inspirational and informative!”(Dr Tig Calvert Senior Lecturer in Neuropsychology, London); “The author has probably written a definitive text which includes material that can be used to enhance the mental and physical quality of life.” (Dr Julien Baker, Health & Exercise Science Research Unit, University of Glamorgan); “An inspirational textbook for the unaware.” (Paul Harris HR Manager Legal & General, Cardiff).

Dr Joanna Longstaffe:
Joanna is a GP and Clinical Director of the Independent General Practitioners (IGP) in Cardiff. She is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, the General Medical Council, the British Medical Association, the Medical defence Union and the Independent Doctors Forum and has all the necessary credentials to run a private practice.
As well as running the IGP in Cardiff, Joanna regularly acts as a medical consultant to the press on matters of general health, and to businesses on matters relating to corporate health standards, health screening of employees and job retention / staged return to work issues.

Dave Costello:
Dave Costello has been an Occupational Therapist for 17 years, and has worked in a variety of clinical areas in mental health in the NHS. He went on to specialise in vocational rehabilitation, exploring methods in which services could become more focused around assisting and supporting individuals with health issues back into work. He worked for a national pilot in job retention in Bristol, which then resulted in him helping to deliver training to some 30 Trusts and Voluntary Sector providers around the UK in job retention case management. Dave is continuing this work in Wales, and is the lead OT for the Healthy Minds at Work Equal Programme. Dave is also a guest lecturer at the University of West of England.
In recent years Dave has worked outside the context of the NHS, and has designed and delivered Condition Management Programmes for Depression through the New Deal, as well as providing rehabilitation and case management to the Insurance industry, supporting and enabling individuals to return to work following illness or injury. In addition to employing more traditional therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy and solution focused approaches in his individual work, Dave also has a strong interest in complementary therapies, which he feels enables him to take a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. He is currently undertaking Level 2 of the Certificate in Clinical Hypnosis with the BST. |

Gavin Emerson:
Gavin is a Director of the prestigious Brief & Strategic Therapy (BST) Foundation. He has a mental health background having been involved in writing and teaching mental health professionals’ specialised Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses for many years.
Some of Gavin’s specialised therapeutic courses have been awarded post-graduate credits for psychiatrists, doctors and nurses. As well as teaching for the BST Foundation, Gavin also regularly lectures at a number of universities on mental health issues and runs private practices at Harley Street, London and Surrey.

Peter Christison:
Peter Christison has worked for over 20 years in the business sector, has over 15 years designing and delivering training experience to the public, voluntary, and business sectors. Peter has worked in mental health for over 12 years, mainly in employment and training. He was a Mental Health Promotion Specialist for over 3 years in the NHS, where he researched and designed ‘Healthy Minds in your Workplace’. This toolkit and training programme was used by one of the HSE pilot sites to develop the Management Standards.
Peter has had articles published about workplace mental health in national journals including: the Health Service Journal (HSJ) and ‘the Professional Manager’ the magazine of The Chartered Management Institute. In addition, Peter worked in a voluntary capacity as a national trustee and chair of a national mental health charity for 6 years

Rhodri Powell:
Rhodri is a corporate performance coach, specialising in improving the mindset, communication skills and behaviour of executives in management and leadership.
He helps coach staff, managers and directors in leadership behaviour, communication skills, business strategy and career planning. Rhodri has considerable workforce development experience in FTSE100, 300 and SME companies. As a consultant and trainer he has been heavily involved in the management development and transition in the quarrying, aggregates and steelworks industries in the UK.

He has over 15 years experience of Fitness Conditioning, Skill Development and Rehabilitation Work with a successful track record of working with International Athletes, World Record Holders, Premiership Footballers and National Teams.

Dr Andy Williams:
Andy is the Director of the Centre for Outdoor Education Studies at
Trinity College, University of Wales. He has been involved with outdoor
and experiential learning for over twenty five years and has taught in
higher education in Australia and the UK.
Andy has led and taken part in expeditions throughout the world
including Scandanavia, New Zealand, Australia, Russia, China, Nepal, South
Pacific islands, North America, and Antarctica. He uses the cultural,
philosophical and organisational insights gained from these experiences in
his work with a broad and diverse list of clients, including young
people, children, higher education students, adults returning to work,
special needs, management, ethnic minorities and youth at risk.
Andy is an Accredited Practitioner of the Institute for Outdoor
Learning and uses the outdoor learning environment as a setting for personal
development, community regeneration and management training programmes.
He is a highly respected commentator on outdoor and experiential
learning and a regular contributor to international publications and
conferences on outdoor learning and retains an active coaching role in
mountaineering, rock climbing, kayaking, and caving. |

PC Paul Marenghi:
Paul is a Police Constable with South Wales Police, currently working as a School Community Officer. He delivers the All Wales Core Programme to schools and delivers talks and instructs to colleges and the community on a variety of subjects including drugs, crime, personal safety and citizenship. Within the force Paul is an Officer Safety Instructor, First Aid Instructor, Public Order Instructor and Tactical Adviser and Authorised Firearms Officer. Previously, Paul worked for the Metropolitan Police where he was attached to the Public Order training Centre at Hounslow, as a full time instructor in Public Order tactics, officer safety (involving Conflict Management, various batons and the use of handcuffs and limb restraints), First Aid and Physical Training (BAPT Instructor). |
